Knitting Scout Badges Earned...

Hello friends,
Its time to do my part to REPRESENT for knitters everywhere.
I love to listen to podcasts and one of my favorites is Cast On with Brenda Dayne. She has been discussing scouting over the last few months and came up with the idea of the Knitting Scouts where we earn badges, etc....so, in order to jump on the bandwagon, I've earned a few badges. You can see a complete list of badges on the Cast On site....

The “Proselytize Knitting” Badge - A requirement for all Knitting Scouts, the recipient must do his or her bit to present knitting in a positive light, whilst at the same time avoiding all references to “hipness”, grandmothers, and yoga.

How did I earn this badge? I think I've earned it because of all of the knitting in public I do - especially airports and airplanes - girls weekends where I've sucked my friends into the knitting world, etc....seriously people, why are you all knitting? I've still got work to do...
The “I Will Impress You With My Math Prowess” Badge - The recipient is a whiz at substituting yarns and calculating gauge, can space increases and decreases evenly and is fully comfortable with the basic math encountered in all knitting projects.
How did I earn this badge? - Well, I started with my own patterns for nautical flag intarsia pillows and then continued with such conversations that ended in - "stop stop, I've had enough of the numbers!!"..but mostly I decided that knitting was like math a long time ago and so, I decided that I earned this badge - want to argue with me? I thought not....LOL
The “Knitting Has Forced Me to Seek Medical Attention” Badge (Level One) – In which the recipient has been forced to seek the advice of a medical doctor, nurse, or alternative healthcare professional for injuries sustained as a result of knitting.
How did I earn this badge? - It was a few years ago - I started knitting and noticed that my left wrist and forearm were sore - after talking to all of my friends and my poor husband - it finally dawned on my - I was using my muscles differently, duh? But how was I going to continue knitting with my sore wrist? Oh no, was the fun over? Luckily I continued to knit, taking more breaks and the pain went away - I must have conditioned my muscles to deal with it as it was obvious I wasn't going to stop!
Happy Monday - knit on!
