Felted Slippers

Since my knitting addiction hit full force about two years ago, my poor patient husband has only been on the receiving end of one of my creations (a wool hat in Minnesota Wild colors), until now - I finally finished a pair of the Fiber Trends felted slippers for him. I used 100% wool yarn from Joann Etc., about 400 yards of the brown and 200 yards of the wheat on size 13 needles. The pictures before felting and after felting (or fulling, if you are hardcore about definitions) are fun to see. It is hard to tell from the photos but the pre-felted version are about 40% larger than the finished version - these slippers are cozy and soft.

Stamping with Friends!

Happy Friday - I was able to spend an afternoon stamping with friends last Sunday. Shirley and Sue came over for our regular stamping fun. I copied from my favorite site for ideas, Splitcoaststampers.com - and came up with these cards.

Lady Bug Card: Lady bug is Pick a Petal in Real Red and Basic Black, Happy Birthday is Lockhart Stamp Co. Card base is a packet I purchased at Target, with SU Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock, gingham ribbon from Stampin Up! Circle punches and black brads finish it up!

Flower Card: Flower is SU Pick a Petal, inks: Whisper White (with white embossing powder), Only Orange, Pixie Pink and Green Galore, Cardstock: Pixie Pink, Soft Sky, Green Galore, Only Orange, SU! Orange Grosgrain Ribbin, Stampin' Dimensionals.

And these two cards use stamps from Lockhart Stamp Co., one of my new favorites.
Lighthouse Card: Stampin Up! watercolor crayons, silver brads, Cardstock: Basic Black, Ballet Blue, Watercolor Paper, Ink: Stazon Black

Cupcake Card: Stampin Up! watercolor crayons, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Stampin' Dimensionals, Cardstock: SU! Certainly Celery, Watercolor Paper, Memory Box Sugar Collection

On the Needles

Just an update on knitting projects - I'll posts some pics soon:
1. Pink socks for Hilary - cotton (pictured in a post below)
2. Green/Blue socks for me - Soysilk (pictured in a post below)
3. A birthday present for Chelle - so that's a secret until August
4. More gifts for thanks yous and Christmas - so those are secrets too!
5. Lucious scarf for winter - started last winter so I need to finish it up!
...and that's it, amazingly small number for my usual list.

Heaven

Heaven must be Martha's Vineyard! We spent our vacation week of July 2nd in Cape Cod with my parents and my brother's family but we spent the 4th of July on the island of Martha's Vineyard at my cousin Joe's house and in the company of my mother's side of the family - the Eriksson/Erickson/Mikos clan. Totalling 30, we spent the day at Joe's eating clams and other wonderful stuff - except me - I guess I had a flu bug although we thought is was food posioning.

Even sick, I was in heaven - my favorite place on earth! Here is our wonderful group!
Although we were missing a few - it has been a very long time since we were all together. It was absolutely fantastic to spend time with all - and that time was far too short!
